Rigorously abstract images emerge through the physical energy of mark marking and layering. As a musician I prefer music without words; as an artist there is something direct and complete about paintings without figurative references.

These abstracts may unpredictably trigger real world associations in the viewer's mind.  Is it a Bird?  Is it a Plane?  Is it another Bloody Landscape?

In some paintings images from the real world are intentionally abstracted, allowing viewers to create their own realities. 

Each painting builds on the last and is a surprise.
